DR. ALISTAIR WOODWARD

University of Auckland, New Zealand

Alistair Woodward is Head of the School of Population Health at the University of Auckland.

Dr. Woodward graduated in medicine from the University of Adelaide, trained in public health medicine in the United Kingdom, and gained a PhD in epidemiology for his work on second hand smoke and childhood respiratory illness. Prior to his appointment in Auckland, he was Professor of Public Health at the University of Otago in Wellington, New Zealand.

Current research interests include climate change and human health, impacts of tobacco use and opportunities for intervention, the health risks of radiofrequency radiation, and public health aspects of urban design.

Dr. Woodward was elected to the Board of the Pacific Basin Consortium in September of 2005.
