DR. KIRPAL SINGH

Jubilee University

Dr. Kirpal SIngh is advisor to the Vice Chancellor of Jubilee University in Papua New Guinea.

Dr. Singh was formerly Executive Dean of the School of Natural and Physical Sciences at the University of Papua New Guinea.

Dr. Singh's research interests include the following:

  • Assessment of Drinking water quality and industrial wastewater
  • Heavy metal determination
  • Environmental analyses

Prior to joining the University of Papua New Guinea, Dr. Singh was involved with the following universities:

  • Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria as Professor
  • University of Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania as Senior Lecturer
  • University of Berne in Switzerland as Research Associate
  • Imperial College of Science and Technology in London as Academic Visitor
  • University of Louvian, Belguim as Research Assistant
  • University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands as Scientific Collaborator
  • University of Delhi, India as Lecturer.

Dr. Singh received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and M. Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Delhi and rose to the rank of Professor of Analytical Chemistry in 1981. In 1988, he was appointed to the chair of Chemistry at the University of Papua New Guinea. Currently, he is Executive Dean, School of Natural and Physical Sciences at the UNPG.

Dr. Singh was appointed to the board of the Pacific Basin Consortium in April of 2000.
