DR. DAVID KOH

David Koh is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of (NUS). He is Chairman of the national Specialist Training Committee for Occupational Medicine, President of the Environmental and Occupational Dermatology Society and immediate Past President of the Occupational and Environmental Health Society. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the multidisciplinary Masters in Environmental Management program in the NUS, and serves as a visiting consultant to several organizations in the region.

Dr Koh’s research interests include occupational and environmental health, the use of salivary biomarkers, and environmental skin disorders; and his publications focus on these areas. He is an Associate Editor of the journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and serves on the editorial boards of several other journals such as the Scandinavian Journal of Work, Environment and Health, Occupational Medicine, Journal of Occupational Health, and the Australasian Journal of Dermatology.

After qualifying in medicine in the University of Singapore, Dr Koh received his Masters in Occupational Medicine from the National University of Singapore, and his PhD from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. Dr Koh is a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians of London; a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

Dr. Koh was appointed to the PBC Board in June of 2004.
