DR. ROBERT G. ARNOLD

Dr. Robert G. Arnold is a professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona in Tuscon, Arizona.

Dr. Arnold's professional interests include applied chemistry and microbiology for the treatment of water, wastewater and hazardous compounds. He is actively engaged in research related to water reclamation/reuse, advanced oxidation processors for destruction of trace organic contaminants in water, and membrane desalination processes such as reverse osmosis and prevaproration. He has worked to develop thermocatalytic and electrocatalytic processes for the destruction of common chlorinated solvents such as trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene and carbon tetrachloride within gas/vapor extraction systems.

Dr. Arnold was a Presidential Young Investigator and was twice co-recipient of the Mees Award for outstanding water-related research in the State of Arizona. He is a former Editor-in-Chief of the ASCE Journal of Environmental Engineering, member of the WateReuse and Water Environment Research Foundation Research Advisory Councils. He is on the board of directors for the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors.

Dr. Arnold obtained his Ph.D. at the California Institute of Technology in 1987.

Dr. Arnold was appointed to the board of the Pacific Basin Consortium in June of 2004.
