DR. BUDI HARYANTO

Dr. Budi Haryanto, BSc, BSPH, MSPH, MSc is Chairman of the Department of Environmental Health and a senior fellow at the Center for Health Research, Faculty of Public Health at the University of Indonesia. Dr. Haryanto has participated in numerous environmental epidemiology studies. In addition to research on health effects in children of air pollution, including lead, PM 2.5, nano-particles, and biological exposures, Dr. Haryanto is also interested in the effects of magnetic fields on human health. Most recently he has actively contributed to the community trial of calcium supplement intervention to reduce children's blood lead levels.

Dr. Haryanto received his PhD in epidemiology at the Faculty of Public Health, the University of Indonesia, two master degrees in Environmental Health and Epidemiology from the University of Indonesia and the University of California at Los Angeles respectively, and two bachelor degrees in Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Health from the University of Indonesia.

Dr. Haryanto is a vice president of the Indonesian Clean Emission Partnerships, Head Division of Environmental Health Sciences Development and Working Group Chairman for Climate Change and Human Health at the Indonesian Public Health Association, and a member of numerous international and national professional societies and organizations, including the International Union on Air Pollution Protection Association (IUAPPA), Clean Air Initiative in Asian Cities (CAI), Indonesian Environmental Health Association, and Indonesian Epidemiological Network (IEN).

Dr. Haryanto was elected to the board of the Consortium in February 2008.
