PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive the special conference room rate you must make your hotel reservations and any subsequent changes to them through the PBC Secretariat. Please indicate your hotel room preferences on the registration form (downloadable at the top of this page), include your credit card number (necessary to hold room) and fax or email the form to the PBC Secretariat (Fax: (808) 944-7399 Attn: Jill; Email: pbc@eastwestcenter.org). If you have registered online already, please indicate as much on the registration form and fill out just the relevant parts (e.g., hotel reservation, tour and credit card information). GETTING THERE: Taxis from the airport to either hotel will cost about 120rmb (about US$16). Shuttles will run between each hotel and the conference center (overseas exchange center) each morning and evening. The conference center is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Youdian Hotel. The cost of a taxi between the Friendship Hotel and the overseas exchange center is about 15 rmb. Please get your taxi at the airport from the offical taxi stand. Do NOT accept a taxi ride from people approaching you as you leave customs. Very few taxi drivers speak English so you will need to download and print this card indicating the hotel names in Chinese and show it to your taxi driver. The Beijing Friendship Hotel (Four Stars, Building 2 or Building 4)

The Beijing Friendship Hotel is located just a few kilometers to the south of Peking University. It takes about 20 minutes by taxi from the hotel to the Peking University Conference Center and the taxi costs about 17 rmb. A free shuttle will also operate between the hotel and the conference center each morning and evening.
There are two room options for conference participants at the Beijing Friendship Hotel, both of which are rated four stars: Building 4 which is newer, slightly nicer and US$88/double occupancy/night and Building 2 which is US$75/double occupancy/night. Both include a buffet breakfast for one person (second person in room must pay additional fee for second breakfast). The hotel also has a five star building for participants wishing for more luxury. Please contact the hotel directly for reservations in this part of the complex.
The hotel offers numerous amenities including in-room high speed internet (10 rmb/hour or 50 rmb/day), several restaurants (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Western, Russian), a small grocery store, souvenir shops, a post office, an ATM, a fitness center, and a large outdoor garden courtyard. The hotel is also near several department stores, a large supermarket and numerous other restaurants and shops.
